We love Matrix Headlights, and talk about them all the time. When the new Amarok premiers, it will have IQLight Matrix LED headlights as an option to standard LED lighting.
Gay readers tell us they've bought an Amarok for its sexy looks, and the fact that it is not a Hilux. Interesting comments, but they say looks are as important as the way their pick-ups work. They love pick-ups, and want space, technology, and comfort.
A short video Below clip shows them off.
VW is up-marketing the new Amarok as a "premium vehicle," so all models will have LED headlights up front. As an option on posh versions of the pick-up, optional 'IQ.Light' can be ordered. These LED matrix headlights have a high-impact light graphic, and the bright makes night driving less stressful. Matrix Headlights come on in low light situations dipping full beam whenever there is oncoming traffic, street lighting or traffic lights, and the static cornering lights, which light corners up better in the direction of travel. Unlike normal high beam situations, Matrix Lights form light in ways so that most of the road remains lit brightly. Only the section of light with oncoming cars is dipped. As the vehicle moves through the light field, the dipped beam follows it.
