Freo's Spare Parts Puppet Theatre will show the uplifting childhood classic The Velveteen Rabbit for the April school holidays with a production that brims with hope, love, and adventure – on its 100th Anniversary.

Written in 1922 in the wake of the post-World War I Spanish flu and scarlet fever epidemics, The Velveteen Rabbit explores the special imaginary relationship between a child and a toy rabbit (who desperately wants to be 'Real') and celebrates the power of belief, love and loyalty in coping with challenges and adversity.

This 100-year-old classic resonates down the years with its uplifting story of belief and make-believe that suggests that anything is possible if you believe in it enough.

The show runs for 50 minutes and is perfect for children aged 5 and above. It is on from April 4–23, with shows daily at 10am and 1pm from Monday to Saturday, and twilight performances at 6.30pm Thursday, April 14 and Friday April 22 (no shows on Sundays and Public Holidays).
