Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners but fellow citizens with the saints, and of the household of God;
Was there a moment in your faith where you felt like you really "belonged"? There may have been moments where you felt the opposite, as a total outsider and different from everyone else. Know this: everyone begins their faith journey in the exact same way. They must knock on the door for God to open it. (Matthew 7:7-8) No matter where you come from or how you believe, if you love God with all your heart and strength, you are a Christian.
Open my heart, O Lord, to believers of all types. I ask that You help me to be blind to the social constructs that rule so much of our socio-economic decisions today. Help me to love blindly, as You do, for You do not judge based on appearances but based on actions. Forgive me also, dear Lord, for my actions do not justify my lofty expectations. Everyday I aim to serve You better, starting today. Amen.
