Nothing

I came across a statement that challenged me so much talking about faith. It was from Christine Caine. She said,

"God wants us to keep moving forward in faith even in the face of when we see nothing.
Nothing will test your faith like NOTHING.
He wants us to keep asking, to keep believing, to keep praying, and to keep going."

That really spoke to me. Because as I thought about more I realized how true that was and is.

It's in those times when things don't seem to be happening, when prayers don't seem to be getting answered, when things are going wrong when our faith is really tested. It's in those times when God seems silent that our true faith is revealed.

Will we give up and throw in the towel or will dig our feet deeper in faith not budging confident that God will come through for us even when nothing seems to be happening.

I think of Abraham and Sarah who had to deal with this. God had promised him a son but time kept ticking away. He was getting older and older and there was still the same issue of Sarah's bareness. There was nothing in his circumstances that he could hold on to that could strengthen his faith in God. All he had was God's word. But despite all that Abraham remained resolute. This how the Bible says it,

"Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping-believing that he would become the father of many nations."

Romans 4:18

"Even when there was no reason for hope, Abraham kept hoping"

In other words, when nothing seemed to be happening, Abraham kept hoping, he kept trusting God and at the right time he received what God promised him and Sarah. He didn't give up or quit. He stayed resolute, extremely confident that God was faithful to fulfil His promise.

And that's our challenge.

In the face of nothing we need to remain steadfast in faith. We need to know that God is working in the background and he knows exactly where you are. He will come through for you. Don't give up. I know without a doubt that God is going to breakthrough for you even when there is nothing in your circumstances that shows it. So in nothing keep trusting Him.
