It's meant to be spring, but the last day of winter was warm and funny, then followed with rain and wind!
Can't I Go Instead by Lee Geum-yi arrived with thanks to Scribe. Set in the early twentieth century, it's about the daughter of a Korean nobleman and her maidservant. The daughter is arrested as an activist and is quickly married off and sent to the US. Her maidservant is sent in her place to be a comfort woman to the Japanese army. After the war, they return home to a different Korea.
Chain-Gang All-Stars by Nana Kwame Adjei-Brenyah is about a controversial TV show where prisoners compete for their freedom like gladiators. But as a fan favourite reaches the final stages, the odds are stacked against her by the corporate owners.
Age of Vice by Deepti Kapoor is about the Wadia family – wealthy, corrupt and feared by all. When the lives of a servant, the heir and a journalist become entwined, can they escape or be consumed?
