When a human hums, it's like a cat purring. Did you know that cat purrs are healing? I read that somewhere, and I believe it. Petting a purring cat on your lap feels calming. I just bought Mama Cat an "Adventure Kitty" harness that comes with a leash. It will probably be a long process, but she's come a long way in the past 3 years from feral and skittish, to affectionate and only a little skittish. I should probably watch a video about the harness.
Sometimes I hum and don't realize I'm doing it. Humming is self-soothing. Can't have too many self-sooths. In the movie, Casablanca, Ilsa, played by Ingrid Bergman, says she's going to hum the song, but she puts vowels in and uses a couple consonants, too. So that has broadened my understanding of what humming means.
Ah such a romantic song. The romance and nostalgia make up for the briefly archaic and dramatic lyrics. I can thank my EX-husband for introducing this movie to me. Everyone has some good qualities. He was a big Bogart fan. I like listening to Sinatra sometimes. Was it Sinatra who we referred to as the canary?
Just went to look that up. Canary must have been someone else. Maybe it was a movie. One of Sinatra's nick names was "Old Blue Eyes."
A Young Frank Sinatra
My mother's brother Bobby who died at a young age from "Hodgkins's Disease" sort of looked like Frank Sinatra when he was a teenager or maybe in his early twenties. I don't know, maybe it was the look. At age ten, he was a semi ? famous child boxer. They lived in Washington DC. Let me see if I can find some old photos. In my family history novel, I write about how Bobby's death greatly affected his father who died before I was born.
Aren't old family photos great? They've become a lot more interesting to me over the years as I try to piece together family history.
I might have shared this before. IDK. But with the SoC, you get what you get. Maybe Uncle Bobby wants to be remembered.
