Polestar has been testing their new Polestar 3 in the most abominable of extremes, and that testing is almost done. It is not just a symbol of electric vehicle superiority, it is one of EV mastery. Many have doubted the viability of electric power, but the uptake of vehicles with pure electric drives has gathered pace the like of which we have not seen before.
EVs can do most things ICE vehicles can do, and many things ICE vehicles could never dream of.
As for Polestar 3, it recently endured two weeks of extreme hot weather testing in the United Arab Emirates. Production should begin sometime in the first quarter of 2024, so Polestar will soon have three models on the road, including their two new SUVs, Polestar 3 and Polestar 4.
Polestar 3 has its debut at the 2023 Goodwood Festival of Speed in England. While the model had been seen in static displays previously, this was the first that involved a moving target. Also in the last year, Polestar 3 prototypes were shipped to the UAE in August. They were accompanied by a development team of engineers to fine-tune, among other things, the climate system, in the hottest of environments.
EVs will be expected to go where their petrol and diesel siblings can go. This epic expedition took place in the urban metropolises and deserts surrounding Dubai and Abu Dhabi in temperatures up to 50 degrees Celsius, and is one of several extreme weather tests that Polestar cars undergo during development.
