This week we catch up with Steph Lowe (AKA The Natural Nutritionist) and Nutrition Expert for Cell Squared and find out how she spends her weekends in beautiful Tasmania, Australia, with her young family.
Friday Night
On Fridays I usually try to get an early night with my two babes (2 & 4 years old). We love to get creative with homemade pizzas or keep it easy with some Japanese takeaway from our favourite local spot.
Saturday AM
I take my girls to Tiny Dancers and then head onto the markets for fresh produce and coffee beans. They love to pick up some local dried blueberries and baby carrots! We then often go to a cafe for fresh juice and the most delicious gluten free chocolate chips cookies! After lunch, we'll spend some time in the garden. We are currently getting everything back on track after a chilly winter and my girls are patiently waiting for all the fruit to come back into season!
Saturday PM
It's kitchen time! We love to prepare 1-2 batch-cooked meals as we prepare not to cook mid-week. I love to include nourishing foods like bone broth or liver in these dishes to maximise the nutrient density for myself and my family. I work with many parents and often recommend opening up and adding Cell Squared Organic Beef Liver capsules (or Cell Squared Beef Liver Powder) into homemade meals or smoothies. This is a source I know I can trust as they test and verify the vitamin & mineral content in all their organ products. The best bit? You won't have to worry about sourcing and preparing a good quality fresh liver! This provides a daily dose of fresh, gently freeze-dried organ goodness.
Sunday AM
This is my solo morning to hike, as I just adore switching off and spending time in nature. I'm currently in training for the Overland Track - 65 km, six-day trek through the heart of the Cradle Mountain-Lake St Clair National Park - so I've been getting out for at least a couple of hours and training with an increasingly heavy backpack for extra effect!
Sunday PM
This is often a family dinner with my in-laws, who have the most beautiful relationship with my two girls and are a big part of the reason why we have moved to Tasmania. It's often steak with roast vegetables and we are always sure to roast at least an extra tray for the week ahead. "Cook once, eat twice", as I always say!
