A Word In The Wilderness

No matter how hopeless your circumstances seem to be, you need to make sure you hold on to what God has promised you. Even when you can't see a way out, this is not the time to give up and quit but to continue believing that God will come through for you. Because it's in the difficult times when it's easy to listen to the negative voices. But God fulfilling His promises in your life are not dependent on whether your circumstances are good enough. Even when your circumstances look bad, God can breakthrough for you.

David was in a really bad place after Samuel had anointed him king. He was on the run from Saul who was trying to kill him. David had to run away to the the wilderness.

David now stayed in the strongholds of the wilderness and in the hill country of Ziph. Saul hunted him day after day, but God didn't let Saul find him.

1 Samuel 23: 14 NLT

Here was the future king of Israel on the run from Saul in the wilderness. It must have been a challenging time. But David did not give up because his circumstances seemed hopeless. In the wilderness, God was with David

"Saul hunted him day after day, but God didn't let Saul find him."

And Jonathan his friend came to him and encouraged him in the desert,

Jonathan went to find David and encouraged him to stay strong in his faith in God. "Don't be afraid," Jonathan reassured him. "My father will never find you! You are going to be the king of Israel, and I will be next to you, as my father, Saul, is well aware." So the two of them renewed their solemn pact before the Lord. Then Jonathan returned home, while David stayed at Horesh."

1 Samuel 23:16-18 NLT

Even though the circumstances were really bad, David and Jonathan would not let them dictate their faith in God. David never let go of his faith in God. So as I read this story I was so encouraged. No matter how dead, and hopeless your circumstances seem, don't give up. Hold on to the promises God made to you because He will bring them to pass. And that's what happened to David. God did fulfill His promises to David. God is faithful and we can trust Him.

So no matter what you are facing today, keep on holding to your faith in God. No matter how bad things seem to be right now, they will change for the better because God is with you. Don't give up. Keep trusting God.

Bless you friends
