Reading Ireland Month (or The #Begorrathon as it is affectionately known) will return for the eighth year during March 2024, although this will only be the fourth year I have participated. It is hosted by Cathy at 746 Books. Cathy is a supporter of everything Irish and a promoter of Irish culture. Check out her page for suggestions of what to read and listen to some wonderful Irish music from her spotify list.

I am not sure of exactly what I will read, but hope to read at least four books, one per week. I am also looking for some movies to watch. Here are some possibilities of books I might read, but as the month goes on, I might read some different ones.
Some movies or television series I might watch include many that are available on Netflix. Not sure what I will choose yet, I guess it depends on what I can find.
- The Field (1990), which I think I have already seen, but will watch again.
- The Van - a comedy
- The Wind That Shakes the Barley - a 1920s war drama
- A Bad Day for the Cut (2017) - Revenge movie
- Redemption of a Rogue (2020)
- Deadly Cuts (2021) - Comedy
- The Guard (2011)
- Once - Romance
- The Derby Girls - miniseries
There is still time to join in. March doesn't start until tomorrow. Take a look at books you have on your TBR shelf. You might be surprised at the Irish authors or books set in Ireland that are on there.
