As I get further along into baby boy's second year, I get more of myself back.
They are all little things at first, sure, but they are things for me nonetheless.
One of these happened last night.
I was able to sleep on my belly again.
I am a belly/side sleeper. As I progressed into my pregnancy with baby boy, sleeping became such an issue, and then I would get really bad leg cramps too. Having to sleep only on my back (which I hate) or propped up on my side with pregnancy pillows with my belly hanging over, it was quite uncomfortable.
Then insert a year and a bit of breastfeeding. There is no chance you can sleep on your tummy when your baby is feeding up to 16 times a day in those early stages. Your breasts became full and almost engorged, leaking and bursting at the slightest bit of pressure, let alone the thought of sleeping on them!
So now, at 13 months and 1 week, I can sleep on my tummy again. 💖
