Creating a website is free, but you'll have to upgrade to one of Wix's premium plans if you want to do things like accept payments or don't want to be limited to using a Wix domain name."
Museums Association: Unesco verifies damage to 343 cultural sites as war in Ukraine enters third year. "Unesco has published a list of 343 cultural sites verified to have suffered damage since Russia invaded Ukraine on 24 February 2022. The list includes 31 museums, along with 127 religious sites, 151 buildings of historical and/or artistic interest, 19 monuments, 14 libraries and one archive."
Reuters: Google relists Indian apps in U-turn after government criticism. "Alphabet's Google will restore the Indian apps it deleted after a billing dispute, the company said on Tuesday, a reversal in stance following pushback from the government and local internet startups. The U.S. firm on Friday removed more than 100 Indian apps, including popular ones by Matrimony.com, for not complying with its policy of paying a service fee when in-app payment options other than Google's are used."

"Donald Trump supporters have been creating and sharing AI-generated fake images of black voters to encourage African Americans to vote Republican. BBC Panorama discovered dozens of deepfakes portraying black people as supporting the former president."
Middle East Monitor: Google engineer says he refuses to build tech 'for genocide' at conference . "A Google Cloud engineer interrupted Google Israel managing director Barak Regev at the Israeli tech industry conference MindTheTech in New York, saying he refuses to 'build technology that powers genocide,' referring to Google's Project Nimbus contract. Project Nimbus is a $1.2bn contract to provide cloud services for the Israeli military and government. This technology allows for further surveillance of and unlawful data collection on Palestinians, and facilitates expansion of Israel's illegal settlements on Palestinian land."
Search Engine Journal: Google March 2024 Core Update: Reducing "Unhelpful" Content By 40%. "Google has announced a significant update to its search algorithms and policies to tackle spammy and low-quality content on its search engine. The March 2024 Core Update, which the company says is more extensive than its usual core updates, is now rolling out. This update includes algorithm changes to improve the quality of search results and reduce spam."

Finance Magnates: ASIC Wipes Out 3,500 Fraudulent Investment Websites in Anti-Scam Initiative. "The Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) has unveiled the success of its relentless efforts in combating investment scams. New data has revealed that since the launch of ASIC's scam website takedown capability in July 2023, nearly 3,500 fraudulent investment websites have been eradicated, marking a stride in protecting Australians from digital fraud."
The Register: Judge orders NSO to cough up Pegasus super-spyware source code. "NSO Group, the Israel-based maker of super-charged snoopware Pegasus, has been ordered by a federal judge in California to share the source code for 'all relevant spyware' with Meta's WhatsApp. The order [PDF] from Judge Phyllis Hamilton at the end of last month stems from WhatsApp's 2019 lawsuit [PDF] against NSO for allegedly spying on 1,400 WhatsApp users."
