I don't have access to all the gossip of the town…indeed I can be innocently ignorant of even the most blazing of facts.
However I do occasionally learn things that are " juicy ", not convenient, or downright bitchy. I have made the mistake in the past of repeating them for social entertainment. I'll bet I've done a lot of unnecessary damage by doing this.
No more. Gossip will no longer have a free route between my ears and lips. I cannot prevent hearing it if it shouts to me, but I can still it from then on.
This isn't only morality. To be honest, it is cowardice, as I have realised that past indiscretions have laid me open for retaliation. Had I not blabbed, I would have been better off. As the situation is not adjustable, the only benefit will be to take it as a lesson.
Just yesterday I learned that Party A detests Party B. I know them and get on well with both…and I will continue doing so by not sharing their enmity, one with another.
