The article talks a lot about how scared we should be, and that it's okay to be scared if it prompts us into action. However, very little is said about "what I know"---i.e. what the author's secret, enlightened knowledge really is. For that, we need to go to his website and buy one of his books. (?)
Is this the same ol' peddling products through fear or is the author genuine? I can't say because I haven't met him. Although I can say that at the top of his publication list is a book belonging to of the Oxford, A Very Short Introduction series. From looking at other Very Short Introductions, I have found them poorly edited and not too stunning. They Seems like a desperate attempt for Oxford to stay relevant and grab some cash in an age where universities are struggling due to the web, Wikipedia, and AI.
They say sex sells. Fear must be a close second!
Myself, I like the warmer winters in Canada. Has anyone considered the economic and psychological health benefits of climate change for those living in cold countries? I also have a sensitive ear that goes crazy in cold weather. This year I was able to manage it.
But I should be afraid, not enjoying myself...
