"Siân Jones and Diána Vonnák will discuss the DECOPE Project which examines how care is being mobilised for cultural heritage in response to the Ukraine war. The main goal of the project is to identify national and international responses that aim to safeguard heritage and heritage practitioners during the war, helping to create more effective and targeted support for the work of professionals and communities." Search Engine Journal: Google Integrates Social Media Posts Into Google Business Profiles. "Google has introduced a feature that automatically displays social media posts from platforms like Instagram and Facebook directly on Google Business Profiles (GBP). This update aims to give customers a more comprehensive view of a business's online activity and engagement. According to a Google help page, businesses that have associated their social media links with their GBP may now find their social media posts automatically surface on their profiles."
Scripps News: Social media site Reddit plans a $750 million IPO. "Social media company Reddit told regulators it hopes to raise some $750 million when it makes its upcoming initial public offering. In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Reddit told regulators it will offer 22 million shares of Class A common stock. It expects the price of the stock to range from $31 to $34 per share."

Polygon: Warner Bros. is now erasing games as it plans to delist Adult Swim-published titles. "Warner Bros. Discovery is telling developers it plans to start 'retiring' games published by its Adult Swim Games label, game makers who worked with the publisher tell Polygon. At least three games are under threat of being removed from Steam and other digital stores, with the fate of other games published by Adult Swim unclear."
Politico: The Mystery Social Media Account Schooling Congress on How to Do Its Job . "His tweets have gained renown around the Capitol for their nuanced discussions of arcane congressional rules and history, and for his comfort with correcting longtime lawmakers and Washington journalists alike. His following is only around 4,000, but it's a well-connected bunch, including congressional chiefs of staff, committee staff directors and other leading insiders."
Santa Barbara Independent: 'Santa Barbara News-Press' Online Assets to Be Sold. "For $250,000, ownership of the Santa Barbara News-Press online archive, and its various domain names, may be sold to Weyaweya Ltd., a company based on the island nation of Malta off the coast of Sicily in the Mediterranean Sea. While the bankruptcy attorneys did not answer questions about the Maltese company, in their motion to sell the online assets, they also requested payment to two former News-Press employees who held the content and the login information."

TorrentFreak: Publishers Target LibGen Domains, IPFS Gateways, Plus $30m in Piracy Damages. "Several prominent textbook publishers including Cengage, Macmillan Learning , and Pearson Education, are seeking $30 million in piracy damages from the operators of shadow library, LibGen. Collecting payment from the unknown defendants will be complicated, but the terms of a proposed injunction reveal that the publishers aim to target the site's domain names and proxy services, even third-party IPFS gateways."
404 Media: NYTimes Files Copyright Takedown Against Hundreds of Wordle Clones. "The New York Times has filed a series of copyright takedown requests against Wordle clones and variations in which it asserts not just ownership over the Wordle name but over the broad concepts and mechanics of the word game, which includes its '5x6 grid' and 'green tiles to indicate correct guesses.'"

"[Floyd] Mayweather was not hurting for cash before his fight with Logan Paul, but he draws a notable line here between legacy and money. And Jake Paul's mission seems to be to blur that line as much as possible. This mission has been particularly painful for the UFC as Jake Paul has taken the league's over-the-hill champions like Nate Diaz and Anderson Silva into the ring and made a mockery of their belts. Sure, they're old, they're not boxers—but it's still pretty disenchanting to see them lose to a kid who boxes like he picked it up on Nintendo Wii."

13 News Now: Naro film archive set to open next week at ODU . "Movie lovers can soon check out thousands of films that used to be on the shelves of the now-closed Naro Expanded Video store. 'Naro Video @ ODU Libraries' will open for the public to borrow its more than 43,000 titles, beginning on March 11. The longtime video store, one of the last of its kind in the area, closed its doors in 2019. But the owners worked out a deal with Old Dominion University to keep the massive film collection intact."
