The Albanese Government's two-day jobs and skills summit starts in Canberra today. The Bug took to the streets in Strathpine, just north of Brisbane, to test community views on the event.
Dieter Putton aged 51 — small business owner from Strathpine
"I said the Labor Party would fail and it's failed miserably. The proof is there for all to see. Even before the summit starts Prime Minister Albanese hasn't implemented a single one of its outcomes. Hopeless."
Mrs Peta D. Utton agd 51 — housewife from Strathpine
"I don't see the point in the summit. It's just a union-dominated talkfest. It's just unions, unions, unions. Furthermore, the delegate list consists of unions, unions, unions. The summit is clearly designed to hand control of our country and its economy to the unions..., I mean to the unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions. If you need any undeniable, concrete proof of that just look at my earlier comments about the unions, unions, unions, unions............"
Nottud Retep aged 51 — former police officer from Strathpine
"Day one of the summit and even before it's started the Albanese Government has failed to put nuclear power on the agenda or to debate it and have a reactor built to generate clean, emissions-free power that can deliver supply when the sun doesn't shine and when the wind doesn't blow. They've had almost a day, or at least a few hours, but have done nothing. It's clear they are running scared of the woke, lefty greenies and the unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions, unions....."
Pierre Du Tonne aged 47 — social worker from Strathpine
"The summit has done nothing to help the most needy people in Australia right now. I'm talking about those on the fringes of society – the marginalised, the dispossessed. Every day I see the evidence – wretched, discarded individuals with no purpose in life, no hope, no future. And that's just in the Liberal Party."
